Let Us Be The Church
Church,
a personified body working for One cause toward a greater goal,
we sit among the righteous and eat beside fellow brethren,
yet are unable to escape the judgmental stares everyone seems to have given,
Fake smiles and empty feelings,
Seems like being real,
is nothing more but high HOPES that hit the ceiling,
taking what is heard,
then hurting somebody's feelings,
through the lies that are spoken,
and those we are still speaking,
Life is like photography,
you develop through the negatives,
thinking why am I one of the elect,
thoughts of drowning or hanging yourself,
but realize when you leave that dark room,
You're picture perfect,
Focus on the positives,
in contrast to the darkness,
His Light shines bright,
the amount of Exposure needed for you to capture the focal point of the BIGGER PICTURE,
Let us be the family,
A home to one another,
Undefeated, Undivided & United,
Unlike anything ever witnessed,
Let us close our mouths and open our ears,
because honestly, I'm sick and tired of the things that I see and hear,
1 of 2 sides to every story,
Walking heads held high, with so much pride,
But hardly ever on our knees admitting our weaknesses or defeats,
nor seek humility as our plea,
So much to boast, but never in our folly,
we seek out those we view as targets,
take aim with our words, masking our judgment with “righteous exhortation”,
target down, falsifying our credibility as Christian,
target down, falsifying our credibility as Christian,
patting ourselves on the back,
all the while calling murder-by-friendly-fire our ministry,
When will we take pride in our shortcomings?
Faith and action uncooperative,
Seeking service without subjecting ourselves to sincere honesty,
Honestly,
the lack of reality is laughably annoying,
In our own little worlds,
Acting on selfish missions & given self-righteous goals,
indulge in false teachings,
allowing our five senses to heed to heresy,
remaining oblivious to the judgement we passed on a poor soul,
What has happened to us, Church?
Since when were we give the right to act as God?
Why must we act as though we Love,
as if the fruit we could never bear was always there,
like trying to live life through the dead works that we share,
it's regrettable when we look down on one another based on our past even hereafter,
Have we really forgotten how to love our neighbor?
Let us open our eyes,
make clean the dirty mirror and become truth bearers,
it's heartbreaking to see our reality standing before us but we choose to blind,
that we do not judge by sight or in our mind,
because “Christian” doesn’t always look like a clean cut, dress, suit or tie,
Let us open our ears,
that way the truth can be so much more clear,
cease the lies that we hear and let the Gospel be the lanterns that’s held high for the God that Paul reveres,
stop the blame, cease the tears, allow Love to cast out fear, and fix the hurt,
Let us open our mouths and say,
Let Us Be The Church.
