Dear 2020
I'm not sure where to begin. Not sure where to start. When you came into our lives, it seemed like a dream that came true. People were ready for you in any and every way, shape and form possible. You were the year of vision and clarity. Then, you started and the most unexpected turn of events took form and threw the world into a standstill, shock, chaos and outrage, and ultimately, fear. Not only the craziest time ever face, but all the evident that our Father, our Creator's promises were taking place, as they had been for years past. You were no exception to this, His rule and prophecy. You were something we weren't ready for. You were quite the surprise for us all. You stripped things from many, taken away much from lots, robbed opportunity from most. Yet, in light of those unfortunate mishaps and unforeseen circumstances, I have but only one thing to say to you.
Thank you.
I'm sure people are ready to get you over with. Preparing themselves for 2021, as if things will get better as the years roll by. Unfortunately for anyone who's never cracked open a bible before, they're in for a real shock. However 2020, I want to take this time to thank you. What you've for me this year was expose me and others. You've exposed so many of the hearts of those a lot of us, at one point, called friend, companion, lover, brother or sister. Even churches. You exposed the hearts of people and their stance on political issues; causing many to analyze their friend circles and reevaluate who they stand with. You helped many see where who they were, what they stand for, whom they stood with (especially with this election), etc. Which is what I can say for myself. Well, maybe not on the topic of friends and their political beliefs, but reevaluation, nonetheless. You've been one doozy of a year, but I truly believe that you were never meant to be the year of vision or clarity, but one of exposure. Don't worry about the lessons you taught me. I'm going to carry them well. I'm going to apply them as best I can. And as far as my relationship with God, best believe you've exposed that to me. Now that's a lesson worth holding on to. My only prayer is that I become better. That I be better. That I am better. In the Name of Jesus and by the power of His Holy Spirit.
All in all, if no one has said it yet, let me be the first.
Thanks, 2020.
You were, by far, the best year imaginable.
